Long story short
I made a Workout log app with ad-free. Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Hey Guys.
This year, As usual, I made a promise to myself a new year's resolution to keep up with my workout. But as always, I failed to keep going to the gym after a few weeks. (I like to blame COVID for this, but unfortunately, Our country didn't close the gym even on this crisis). :( )
Since it's a yearly routine for me, I could simply ignore the event and live my life as usual. However, this time, I started to develop curiosity about the fundamental reasons that block me from making fitness habits. Maybe if I knew the reason, I might able to figure out what to do, right?
With some research, I found out that workout has two main problems to become a comfortable habit.
One is a lack of feedback. It takes a long time to get tangible feedback on your workout. Let's say if you do the benchpress today, what makes you so sure it actually affects your muscle or body fit?
You would never know until you actually have a decent body fit. It's just like college life; you never know the value of the time until you graduate. lol
I believe this is why people keep posting their workout log or workout picture online. When I saw those kinds of images or feeds on Instagram, I thought it's so lame. But now I know that they are doing it to have a psychological boost for their workout to continue.
Second is it's challenging to know the triggers of your workout. This differs from the individual. In my case, a call from my gym buddy is a big trigger for me to go to the gym.
Anyway, after figuring these problems, I finally understand why people write their workout log. The workout log can help with those two problems. By looking at the actual record of your workout, you'll get instant feedback on your training. And once you build your own plan, it becomes your trigger to go to the gym.
I used many workout log app for this purpose. Some of them have excellent functions and good intentions, but it's mostly too complicated to use.
So, I teamed up with friends and created our own workout log app. Our initial plan was to create a simple and easy workout log app and let people use it without a further update. But massive requests from users in our country made us add numerous features so far.
It's been around 4 months since our App was released in our country, and I just finished translating App to English this month.
We are not sure this App would be useful in other countries as it did in ours. I can't ask you to download our App, but I would like to ask whether it appears okay or not.
